Experience the magic of music with saxophonist Fredrik Nordström and his captivating musical rendition of the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Millay was a pioneering American author and feminist icon who captured the spirit of the 1920s and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for her compelling poetry. Now her lyrics are given new life and her thoughts and visions are lifted once more through Edna Song's forward-looking jazz. This will be also the release concert of the album "Mariposa" (Bluenord Records).

Edna Songs features a unique constellation of musicians. Fredrik Nordström has alongside him celebrated names on the international jazz scene such as Magnus Broo (Atomic, Fire! Orchestra) and Samuel Hällkvist (Marilyn Mazur, Yazz Ahmed) as well as young talents Selma Pinton, Hugo Löf and Nils Agnas. Together, they create a soundscape where high-energy, swinging outbursts are woven together with beautiful and delicate moments.

Over the years, Fredrik Nordström has proven to be a musician and composer of extraordinary creativity and depth. He has recorded and released music with Gerald Cleaver, Palle Danielsson and Bobo Stenson among others and collaborated with names such as Brandon Seabrook, Loke Risberg and Sandra Hempel. Earlier this year Fredrik has released the big band album "Big Band Stories" and the duo EP "Going Home" with bassist Ilaria Capalbo.
